TRANSFER OF KNOWLEDGE
Many organisations offer learning and development courses, but University of the Third Age (U3A) is uniquely for older people. It gives you the opportunity to meet and make new friends who share the same interests or lifestyle, and to learn or share knowledge with them.
If you’ve always wanted to learn a particular skill, or enjoy sharing your knowledge with others, U3A could be a good option for you.
These courses encourage older people to bring forward something new to the plate and develop newer insights into things based on their previous knowledge and experience. This sharing of knowledge between generations can benefit both older and younger people.
For older people, it can help keep their minds active and engaged, and for younger people, it can provide a valuable source of wisdom and experience.
U3A’s courses are a great way for seniors to stay engaged with the world around them. By taking advantage of these courses, seniors can keep up with the latest trends and developments in a variety of fields. In addition, the courses can help seniors stay connected with other people who share their interests.
We also help the Youth to prosper by empowering them with Vocational Education and Skills Acquisition.
At U3A Nigeria, we make use of retired Professionals to teach various Vocations by way of Intergenerational Co-operation, both the Youth and the Senior Citizens benefiting from each other for Productive Engagements, thereby reducing poverty in both segments of life.
We do this, to bridge the gap between the Youth and the Senior Citizens and help to curb Elder abuse.
We also help about revival of old Cultural Values, leading to attitudinal change and re-orientation of the Youth. They are encouraged to get Vocational Qualifications for what they ‘know and can do’. People also do their long delayed study with us.

Research & Shared Learning
Shared Learning Projects are a great way to get people involved in learning together.
They can be devised on a national or regional basis, or by the members themselves. Projects can cover anything that stimulates the interest of those taking part.
There may be organizations in your own area that you can partner with for a project: local societies, groups, libraries, museums, town committees and so on.
These partnerships can be a great way to get people interested and involved in learning together.
There are many different ways that people can learn together, but one of the most effective ways is through shared learning.
Shared learning can take many different forms, but one of the most common is through project work. This is when people come together to work on a specific project, often with the aim of creating something or improving their community.
One of the great things about shared learning is that it can be tailored to the needs of the group. It doesn’t have to be expensive or time-consuming, and it can be adapted to suit different learning styles.
If you’re thinking of starting a shared learning project, there are a few things to bear in mind. Firstly, it’s important to have a clear goal in mind. What do you want to achieve? What do you hope to learn? Once you have a goal, you can start to plan how you’re going to achieve it.
It’s also important to involve everyone in the planning process. This will help to ensure that everyone is on board with the project and knows what their role is.
Finally, don’t forget to have fun! Learning should be enjoyable, so make sure that your project is something that people will enjoy taking part in.

jobs
In recent years, an increasing number of adults aged 55 and over have been seeking paid employment. This is due to a variety of factors, such as the rising cost of living and the need to supplement retirement income. While many of these adults are able to find work without much difficulty, there are some who face unique challenges in their job search.
One organization that is helping older adults with their job search is U3A Nigeria. U3A Nigeria is a non-profit organization that provides career counseling and job search assistance to adults aged 50 and over. The organization also offers workshops on topics such as resume writing and job interview skills.
Many older adults who are seeking paid employment face discrimination from potential employers. This is because some employers believe that older workers are not as productive or capable as younger workers. As a result, older adults often have to work harder to prove that they are just as capable as their younger counterparts.
U3A Nigeria provides programs and services for older adults, including job search assistance. They also have programs which can help older adults learn new skills or refresh their knowledge.
